Airplane Ground Support Heaters

Polar 120 HD and GSH-1 airplane heaters are designed for heating up narrow body airplanes and also maintaining the temperature during planes' overnight stays at the airport. The heaters can also be used for engine heating and for melting ice from landing gear as well as de-icing turbine blades (see picture). The heaters are equipped with powerful centrifugal blower, heating unit, generator and fuel tank. Both heaters can also be operated straight from the electric power network.
Polar GSH-W20 is a Heavy-Duty ground heater for Widebody Aircraft. Utilizing a large blower, electrically powered by a Deuz 4-cylinder Diesel and a generator, the unit moves the heating air efficiently throughout the whole fuselage of the aircraft. Conceptually, the design is similar to that of Polartherm's narrowbody aircraft heaters: Heat energy is produced by a combustor system and air movement by the blower. These two are fully separated and therefore the heating air is 100% free from any combustion gas or smoke residues. The design allows versatile adjustments of Air Temperature, Volume and Pressure.
The heat is produced with either diesel or kerosenes (JET-A, JET-A1).
Polar 120 HD
Polar 120 HD was born as a result of Polartherm's and Finnair's long term co-operation and development. Polar 120 HD and its earlier versions have been in use on airports since 1985 and it has been proven a very reliable and robust heater. The Unit is compact and easy to move by one operator due to its long towbar, single axle design, and good balance.

Polar GSH-1
GSH-1 is Polartherm's latest model of ground support heaters. GSH-1 utilizes Hatz "Silent Pack" -generator with excellent sound attenuation in comparison with a regular air cooled diesel engine. The heater is very silent to operate. SAS Scandinavian is one of the airlines using Polar GSH-1 model.
Note! We can design the products to meet various customers specifications. GSH-1 can e.g be delivered without wheels allowing mounting the heater on a truck, see picture. Another version, called GSH-2, is without Hatz engine/generator.

Polar GSH-W20
GSH-W20 is a ground support heater for wide body aircrafts. It was born as a result of demand from the customers to develop a heater for wide body aircrafts that would work reliably in extreme conditions. Customer feedback has been very positive and the heater has become very popupar within customers that need a reliable heater for heating up wide body aircrafts.
